The Montana Department of Revenue maintains a database that includes public information about property
ownership, including, but not limited to, owner name, physical address and geocode. This database provides
information for the My Property (https://svc.mt.gov/dor/property) and Montana Cadastral
(http://svc.mt.gov/msl/mtcadastral) web applications.
You may request that your name is not displayed on the web applications specified above if showing your
name threatens your personal safety or puts you at risk of physical harm.
Complete a separate request form for each property you own. This includes new property you acquire.
We will review your request and send you a letter to let you know if it is granted or denied. If granted, your
property ownership information will remain in the department database but it will not be displayed on the web
applications specified above. If you want to continue to keep your name hidden, you will need to reapply every
two years. Your expiration date will be in the letter we send you.

Important: This request hides your name from public view on the web applications specified above, but does
not remove your information from department databases that are available for download. Your information is
still available to the department and its contractors. Your information is also maintained by local governments
that collect this information for tax administration purposes. This request does not prevent nondepartment
websites and data sources from making your information available in various ways.
